Alan Jinich says that dangerous people can escape prison and continue to cause crimes. Talya thinks that this won’t happen as long as security is good enough, however, Udi pointed out that we can’t just hope for security to be good enough.

Talya argues that we shouldn’t have capital punishment for two main reasons: people can be wrongly accused and murdered, in addition to the fact the process of the state exercising capital punishment is expensive.

I think that it is important for our society to have capital punishment as an option on the table for certain crimes. There are certain crimes that are so heinous, that we deem someone does not deserve to live as a member of society anymore – for this we have life in prison. For worse crimes, the most heinous and egregious, certain people do not deserve to live anymore. In addition, a state with no death penalty, in my opinion, loses the deterrent effect of the death penalty.
