They came before R' Tarfon and asked him: "Will you hide us [from the authorities]"He said to them "What should I do"? If I don't hide you [the authorities] will find you [on the other hand], if hide you? The rabbis said: this is Lashon Hara, and although one should not accept it as truth, one should be mindful of it. You go hide yourselves. |
