Major Roi Klein, deputy commander of the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade, a unit that saw heavy fighting in the Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil.
It was there that Maj Klein, shouting 'Long Live Israel' threw himself onto a grenade to save his fellow soldiers.
His unit bore the brunt of some of the bloodiest fighting and four of the six Medals of Valour went to troops from the unit involved in the battle for Bint Jbeil. Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi, head of the Israeli armed forces, presented the awards.

In February 2016, Staff Sergeant Weissman was grocery shopping with his wife and their young daughter when two terrorists began stabbing an employee at the Rami Levi supermarket.
Weissman ran towards the terrorists and struggled with them using his own bare hands and was murdered fighting.
